Biosciences is a full service genetic testing firm based in Kent in England. It
provides genetic identification testing for the public and legal establishment
as well as health related testing such as predisposition.
Established in
2006, it competes in a rapidly growing market and serves customers in some 41
countries around the world across three brands, International Biosciences,
WhoztheDaddy and GTL Limited.
A critical project...
With the mapping of the human genome and other advances in genetic science, the ability to test individuals genes for the purposes of identification in paternity or immigration cases to testing for their predisposition to contract a variety of illnesses in the future has grown rapidly in the last 10 years. The demand for Genetic testing services and the growth of online trading was recognised by International Biosciences, who set up their first paternity based testing service online in 2006.
By 2010 however, International Biosciences wanted to capitalise on the growth opportunities of introducing their products through selected health based retail channels like community pharmacy. To do this external venture capital funding was necessary and the directors approached 37point5 to assist them in securing this necessary business investment.
This involved firstly the building of a comprehensive Strategic Business Plan and sophisticated financial model that predicted not only sales but the key investment necessary to secure the strategy in marketing, Human Resources and Administration terms. 37point5 also advised the company on critical business issues like Corporate Governance & compliance as well as market entry strategies for particular markets like community pharmacy.
