Stryker (UK) Limited choose 37point5 to help them develop their joint pathwaysTM programme.
“It was vital that we chose a company that could help us to make critical decisions on which direction to head to develop this important NHS initiative. 37point5 was that company.”
Established in 1941, Stryker Corporation is a leader in the
worldwide orthopaedic market and is one of the world’s largest medical
device companies. Stryker delivers results through a broad base of
medical technologies with a focus on orthopaedics.
As a leading
supplier of orthopaedic systems Stryker UK represent the upper end of
the value scale in primary and revision joint surgery, with a key part
of their product proposition being industry leading Education,
Training, support for Research and leading edge technology and
innovation.
A critical focus...
With pathway management and optimisation critical to the success of the NHS across both secondary and primary care, Stryker recognised that healthcare companies had a role to play in supporting the management of patients withinorthopaedics and developed their innovative "Joint Pathway"TM Programme. Stryker realised that communicating its value to the NHS would need an innovative approach to PCT's as well as secondary care. After meetings with senior managers at Stryker, 37point5 proposed a rapid project to allow Stryker to gain insight into the main factors that key decision makers in PCT's and Secondary care would use to ascertain long term value of adopting the "Joint Pathway"TM Programme.
This involved a rapid 3½ day project with initial interviews with key figures involved in commissioning and finance both in PCT's and secondary care. Interpretation was then done of the results to give Stryker critical information on both how "Joint Pathways"TM could bring value to commissioners and what evidence would be needed in order to prove its value. Final meetings were then held with senior managers to advise on next steps.
An important decision...
Andy Taylor, Business Strategy Manager for Orthopaedics said "this project has given us the critical business intelligence and insight in order to make key decisions on how to develop the "Joint Pathway"TM programme for the benefit of NHS commissioners, Orthopaedic departments and patients."
Andy Taylor added: "It was vital that we made the right decisions on how to develop this important resource for our customers. 37point5's deep understanding of the NHS and the commissioning process, along with their experience in Healthcare, allowed us to execute this project cost effectively and make critical decisions on where to place our resources to best effect."
